Numerous letters to the editor argue about the merits of Fox news. Many hate Fox News. A gentleman from Arlington expressed gratitude for the news source this Friday.
I disagree with most of what he said. But that’s not my point. I have made a real effort lately to put myself in uncomfortable places. I really like the results so far. I now see the Koch brothers as people who think they are doing good work. I unsubscribed my liberal social media feeds. Big improvements for me! I still see our culture lacking in social justice. Seriously lacking. But how is that helped by rancor?
Nothing can improve until our political dialogue morphs into this direction. If someone spends time on Fox News, they should try the sophomoric “Daily Show” as a contrarian balance. It’s actually a semi-serious news show with a big effect on younger voters. Of course, the opposite is true. Charles Krauthammer wrote a column I totally agreed with recently. A miracle for me. Everyone with strong opinions needs to get uncomfortable.
