PORTLAND, Ore. — The operators of two of Portland’s popular food carts have been arrested after an investigation into shoplifters supplying them with food and other items stolen from a supermarket.
Portland police said Monday the two carts are in downtown Portland, and they were identified after an investigation by Safeway.
Police said some food cart operators turned down undercover investigators offering stolen goods, but others were willing to purchase them.
Also among the stolen goods: soda, utensils and oven cleaner.
