SPOKANE — The St. Charles parish school in Spokane is closed Friday due to the flu.
The principal, Skip Bounccelli, told KHQ-TV that more than four dozen students have come down with the flu, but the real problem is that some are returning too soon and spreading the virus.
A letter to parents said the staff would clean everything at the school Friday so that classes can resume on Monday.
Since the start of the flu season, 11 people have died from flu-related illnesses in Spokane County and 81 have died statewide.
