WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita police have dropped a drug charge against Dallas running back Joseph Randle.
Police spokesman Lt. James Espinoza said the charge, suspicion of marijuana possession, was dropped Friday because there were some inconsistencies.
Espinoza said dropping the charge allows them to present any charges that result from the ongoing investigation to prosecutors at one time.
The 23-year-old was arrested but not taken into custody early Tuesday after the mother of his child called 911 to report that she fought with him in a hotel room.
Randle’s agent and the Cowboys both had no comment Friday.
The Wichita native was arrested in October on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge at a Dallas-area mall.
Randle has two years remaining on his four-year, $2.3 million rookie contract.
