The Seahawks are set to fill an opening on their coaching staff, hiring former University of Miami linebackers coach Michael Barrow to replace Ken Norton Jr., according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans.
Barrow, an All-American linebacker at Miami under Dennis Erickson, spent seven seasons coaching at his alma mater before stepping down last year for personal reasons, reportedly to take care of his ailing mother.
Norton, who came with Pete Carroll to Seattle from USC, was recently named Oakland’s defensive coordinator.
Barrow will be the second former Hurricanes assistant hired by the Seahawks along with Brennan Carroll, Pete’s son, who reportedly is coming to Seattle as an offensive assistant after serving as Miami’s receivers coach and national recruiting coordinator.
