1. Snoqualmie Ice Cream has a sweet trifecta to get your holiday mojo going.
The Maltby creamery’s lineup offers Pumpkin, a custard version of the pie; Peppermint Stick, with mint candies swirled into gelato; and Sun Liquor Fancy Eggnog a non-alcoholic ice cream version whipped up by the Seattle distillery and Snoqualmie.
We tried all three. They are rich and flavorful. A few spoonfuls will do the trick. We dare you to eat the whole pint at once.
Pints are $3 to $5 at most stores. More at www.snoqualmieicecream.com.
2. Have a smartphone and tired of asking your smart kids for advice?
There’s an app for that. A human app.
Apple stores, including the Alderwood mall site, offer free hour-long workshops on everything on the Apple tree.
Even if you think you know everything, there’s probably more that device can do that will blow your mind.
Workshops include: Apple TV. Apple Watch. iPhone photography and videography. iPads. Spreadsheets. Macs. Music.
No purchase necessary and it doesn’t matter where you got your device. Sign up using your Apple ID at www.apple.com.
3. Go inside a famous (or infamous) Twin Peaks home on the Monroe Historical Society & Museum tour, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 12. Homes include the house with the apple tree in the front yard that is the establishing shot of Laura Palmer’s house. This year the Monroe tour has six homes, two historic churches and the 1908 City Hall building. Cost is $10.
Is the apple tree still there? Go on the tour to find out. More at www.monroehistoricalsociety.org.
