TACOMA — Tacoma police say a teenage mother and her 6-month-old baby boy have been found safe in Seattle after officers say the teen fled foster care with the child when she heard they were going to be separated.
The News Tribune reports that police spokeswoman Loretta Cool says the 15-year-old ran away with the infant at mid-day Wednesday.
Cool says tips helped Seattle police locate the two at the girl’s boyfriend’s house in Seattle on Wednesday night. The spokeswoman says police were concerned that the teen did not have the means to care for the baby.
They were to be returned to Tacoma and the care of Child Protective Services.
