EVERETT — Anacortes defeated Archbishop Murphy by 17 points in the first round of the 2A district 1 boys basketball tournament Friday. Ty Johnson led the Seahawks with 23 points and five 3-pointers and Daniel McInerny added 16 and two 3s. Abraham Lucas scored a team-high 17 points for the Wildcats. Archbishop Murphy takes on Shorecrest starting at 2 p.m. on Monday in a loser-out game and Anacortes faces Sehome in the winners bracket at 6 p.m. Both games are at Mount Vernon.
