The “commentary” about what plagues the Husky basketball program, “Lack of depth plagues Husky basketball,” in Wednesday’s Herald, left out one or two reasons. One: A weak schedule for the first 11 games. Did people really believe this team was that good, knowing the talent level of these teams they were beating? Did you really believe they were the 13th best team in the nation? A team playing “down,” never improves in its own conference.
Two: Coach Lorenzo Romar wasn’t the school’s first choice when hired. He was their fourth pick. Means something. Three: When six players leave the program, what does that tell us? It tells me, the program isn’t very healthy. Players don’t leave a good program.
You might not like this, but perhaps Coach Romar is the real reason the Dawgs haven’t and aren’t worthy of a better position in league play (second to last).
The clock is ticking.
