PORT ORCHARD — The 17-year-old driver in a Kitsap County crash that killed three high school classmates is to be sentenced Thursday in juvenile court.
The teen pleaded guilty last month to three counts of vehicular homicide.
KIRO-TV reports that family members of the victims are scheduled to speak the hearing.
The car carrying the Olympic High School students left a road in Seabeck, Washington, hit a tree, rolled and landed upside down in a ditch on Jan. 11.
Killed were 18-year-old Luther Stoudermire, 16-year-old Kassidy Clark and 14-year-old Jenna Farley.
The driver told sheriff’s deputies the four had been at a party and that he had smoked marijuana about an hour before the wreck. He said he was traveling about 75 mph in a 45-mph zone.
He has no criminal history.
