We spend a lot of time in our vehicles. And I mean a lot.
Snohomish County drivers, in fact, may drive more than any other county in the state, according to a recent state survey. Snohomish County households reported driving an average of 22,523 miles a year, up from 21,382 miles in the previous year’s survey. The statewide average was 17,949 miles, up from 17,742 miles.
These estimates include all kinds of travel, including recreational, but exclude motorcycles and motorhomes. The vast majority of that travel is done in-state in a gas-only vehicle.
The Voice of Washington State survey asked questions like these as it looks at charging a road usage tax.
