PULLMAN — Talia Walton and Kelsey Plum scored 22 points each and Washington raced to an 83-43 win over rival Washington State on Sunday, less 48 hours after losing by 11 in the rivalry game.
The Huskies (20-8, 8-7 Pac 12) dominated this one, holding the Cougars to 23.7 percent shooting after letting them shoot 55.6 percent in the second half on an 83-72 loss on Friday night in Seattle.
Jazmine Davis added 16 points and Aminah Williams, who played in her school-record 127th game, had 10 for Washington.
Mariah Cooks had nine points for Washington State, while Tia Presley and Lia Galdeira, who average 36.8 points between them and combined for 40 in the win, were held to 8 and 7, respectively.
Washington shot 48 percent in the first half (14 of 29), including 7 of 12 3s, to take a 41-26 lead, then made 16 of 29 shots in the second half, finishing 11 of 22 behind the arc. The Huskies were also 12 of 15 from the foul line to end a three-game losing streak in the series and biggest win since an 84-40 in February of 2008.
The Cougars made just 3 of 18 3-pointers, with Galdeira missing going 0 for 6 and Presley 0 for 2. Overall the guards were a combined 5 of 23.
