EDMONDS — A fire at an Edmonds house on Sunday night was started by a candle placed too close to clothing, investigators determined. No one was hurt.
The fire was reported about 9:20 p.m. in the 17400 block of 69th Place W. The clothing ignited in a basement bedroom and caused more than $50,000 damage, said Leslie Hynes, spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 1. Five people who lived in the house got out safely.
Crews also responded from Lynnwood.
