I have been a supporter of The Herald for decades now, I tried to have the delivery service, it seemed to work OK at first until the rains of the Northwest came and I found that no matter what, my paper was wet.
I asked my carrier about it, she tied knots in the bag, double-bagged, even tried to toss them under my cars but to no avail. I was reading the daily “crinkle” paper a day late after I hung it out to dry throughout the family room during the day. Plan B, I decide to forgo delivery and just go pick one up at the store, well good luck with that. If I don’t get to any store in my South Everett area by 11 a.m., I do not get a paper. It seems as if each location is allowed seven papers to sell per day. What makes this even better for me is the cashier that sees steam rolling out of my ears for the umpteenth time as he stands there with glazed over eyes that say “duh?” Apparently my suggestion to these businesses to get more papers from The Herald goes unheeded, so I will try to solve this here.
I am also very disappointed in the changes being made to The Herald. I understand you have to share the press with another paper, but why so many changes? Just about everything I have enjoyed about your paper and the reason I buy it is drastically altered or gone altogether. Maybe if you take out the full page ads you could have room for the “news” you no longer feel the need to print. It will be a really sad day when I can’t drink a cup of coffee and read my local newspaper because it went out of business, but at least I know it won’t be because I didn’t try to do my part to keep the presses rolling!
