MARYSVILLE — A fire on Tuesday afternoon caused extensive damage to the bedroom of a Marysville home.
The fire was reported just before 3 p.m. in the 6100 block of 99th Place NE.
Firefighters fought the blaze offensively and the fire was under control within five minutes, said Marysville fire marshal Tom Maloney.
Damage was confined to the bedroom. Everyone inside the home was able to get out on their own. Two were treated at the scene for minor burns and smoke exposure, he said.
The fire was determined to be accidental. Damage was estimated at $35,000. The Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the family.
More than 22 firefighters helped put out the fire. Marysville received help from firefighters with Snohomish County Fire District 19 in Silvana.
