SNOHOMISH — Danny O’Keefe, renowned songwriter, returns to the Thumbnail Theatre for a show at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27.
Admission is $20 at the door, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish. The concert includes an appearance by Joel Tepp.
In the 1970s, Danny O’Keefe put out a string of albums that cemented his reputation as one of the best songwriters of his generation.
Casual fans know him best for his Top 10 hit “Good Time Charlie’s Got The Blues” or Jackson Browne’s version of “The Road” from the classic “Running On Empty” album. O’Keefe continued to release the occasional album and not long ago returned with “In Time.”
O’Keefe’s songs were recorded by Elvis Presley, Cab Calloway, Charlie Rich, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Earl Klugh, Chris Hillman, Conway Twitty, Leon Russell, Dwight Yoakam, Jerry Lee Lewis, Milt Hinton, Alison Krauss, Jimmy Buffett, Nickel Creek, Judy Collins, Donny Hathaway, John Denver, Gary Stewart, Sheena Easton, Jesse Colin Young, Chris Smither, Ute Lemper, Alan Jackson, Ben Harper, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Bonnie Raitt and David Lindley.

The Thumb’s regular Friday night open mic will move to Feb. 28.
