CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Baltimore Ravens cornerback Victor Hampton has been arrested in Charlotte on a charge of driving while impaired and speeding.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol told local media outlets that Hampton was driving 100 mph in a 55-mph zone on Interstate 77 early Sunday.
Hampton also was charged with reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol in his car. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
The 22-year-old former South Carolina defensive back has not played for the Ravens.
The Ravens told WSOC-TV they had just learned of Hampton’s arrest and were working to get more information.
The station reported that Hampton had a blood alcohol level of 0.10. The legal limit in North Carolina is 0.08.
