Players to watch
Jocelyn Cook-Cox: The senior leads a balanced offense averaging 12.8 points per game for a team that is ranked third and has just one loss this season.
Kara Bajema, Lynden Christian: The junior helped lead the Lyncs to the state championship as a sophomore with a win over King’s.
The Favorite: King’s
Oddly, King’s finished No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll despite having three losses. No. 2 Montesano, which received the most first-place votes with four, was undefeated. It appears the voters got it right, In the regionals, Montesano fell to Lynden Christian, a team King’s beat in the District 1 title game by five points.
The Herald predicts …
In a rematch of the district championship, Lynden Christian and King’s meet for the state title … and the Knights win again.
