How they got to Tacoma: Lynnwood routed Central Kitsap 71-39 in a 3A regional game at Everett Community College. West Seattle also won big in its regional, defeating Sumner 56-18 at Renton High School.

Breakdown: This game could come down to who gets the upper hand between Pivec and Giomi. Both are top recruits for the Class of 2016. The 6-foot-6 Giomi was the 3A Metro MVP, averaging 14.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. The 5-foot-10 Pivec, who scored 24 points and grabbed 24 rebounds in the Royals’ regional win over Central Kitsap, averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds a game. Pivec has scholarship offers from Washington, Washington State, Oregon State, Seattle University and Nebraska.
West Seattle, which had never made it to the state quarterfinals, lost its starting point guard Gabby Sarver, who averaged 6.5 points per game, when she tore her ACL three weeks ago. The Wildcats still have Ionae (13 points per game) and Fiso (12) as scoring threats.
The Royals lost just two games this season — both against teams that made it to the regional round of the state tournament (Todd Beamer and Glacier Peak). In Lynnwood’s 22 wins, the Royals outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points.
