BOTHELL — Prosecutors on Thursday filed a felony assault charge against a man accused of causing permanent brain damage to his infant daughter.
Jacob Tusken, 21, was arrested earlier this week after a lengthy Bothell police investigation that began last year when Tusken brought his 4-month-old daughter to a hospital. She was suffering from seizures and doctors determined that she had a traumatic brain injury.
The girl also had fractured ribs that likely were caused up to two months earlier.
A judge was told Tuesday that Tusken’s daughter, now 14 months old, is in a vegetative state and requires a feeding tube.
Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Jarett Goodkin charged Tusken with first-degree assault of a child in Everett District Court. Prosecutors have until March 20 to refile the case into Superior Court.
Tusken was being held on $250,000 bail.
