Regarding the letter, “Plastic sleeves bad for the earth,” in which the writer complains that newspapers delivered in plastic sleeves are “bad for the earth.” I don’t suppose the letter writer has heard of plastic bag recycling.
It works like this: You bag up all your plastic sleeves, produce bags (from the grocery stores) and bread bags plus others and take them to the grocery store for recycling. All grocery stores have plastic bag recycle bins. I assume she frequents one from time to time.
It does not take rocket science to make a little effort to bring those “pesky” little newspaper sleeves in for recycling.
I, for one, would not want to have to hang my newspaper on a clothes line to dry out on our frequent rainy days.
