MARYSVILLE — Police from Marysville and Monroe arrested a 22-year-old man Friday evening in connection with an armed robbery at a local bank.
Shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, a man walked into the Home Street Bank in the 1200 block of State Avenue in Marysville, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money, according to Marysville Police Department.
The bank worker gave money to the robber, who then fled.
While the robber was still in the bank, another employee had called 911 and hung up. Police responded to the hang up just moments after the robber left, according to the department.
A K9 unit from Monroe Police helped track the suspect, who was found hiding in bushes about 100 yards from the bank.
Police arrested the man, who is from Texas, and found a large amount of money and a handgun on him. The weapon, according to the police, was the one used in the robbery.
The man has a felony warrant from Texas for armed robbery. He was booked into Snohomish County Jail for first-degree robbery.
