LAKEWOOD — Seattle police are investigating the case of a man accused of driving his girlfriend’s body to a state psychiatric hospital in the Tacoma suburb of Lakewood and asking staff to commit him.
The man says the woman was killed in north Seattle.
The Seattle Times reported the man is expected to have a probable-cause hearing Tuesday before a judge in King County to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to hold him for investigation of homicide. He’s currently in the King County Jail.
Seattle police say the 29-year-old Everett man told Western State Hospital employees on Sunday that he had killed his girlfriend and that her body was in his car. Seattle police Sgt. Sean Whitcomb says Lakewood police responded and found the 24-year-old woman’s body in the car.
The Times reports the man does not have a felony criminal history.
