KENNEWICK, Wash. — A 31-year-old man accused of abducting his wife from a grocery store parking lot is facing charges of unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree assault.
The Tri-City Herald newspaper says Paul Gross has an arraignment hearing Wednesday in Benton County Superior Court.
Kennewick police say 22-year-old Samantha Noethe, of Walla Walla, was taken by her husband in “a violent encounter” on March 5.
Police say Noethe suffered cuts and bruises from crashing her car during the incident. She was forced from her car after being boxed in by drivers in other cars. Then she was driven away.
Police say they don’t know the motive for the abduction but they say Noethe didn’t go willing.
She was found safe a day later with the help of friends and relatives.
