SEATTLE — An Everett man who police say drove his girlfriend’s body to a state psychiatric hospital in the Tacoma suburb of Lakewood and told staff he was responsible is due in court Wednesday.
The Seattle Times reports that a King County judge on Tuesday set bail at $2 million for 29-year-old Atilla Richards.
He’s being held in King County Jail on investigation of homicide.
Seattle police say the man told Western State Hospital employees on Sunday that he had killed his girlfriend and that her body was in his car.
Court documents show employees went to the car, confirmed a body inside and called Lakewood police. Lakewood police later turned the case over to Seattle police after learning that the woman was killed in Seattle.
The woman has been identified as 24-year-old Biftu Dadi. She died of stab wounds to the neck and body.
