Art on fabric: See the amazing things quilters can do with fabric and thread at the Quilters Anonymous Guild show 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Evergreen State Fair events center. A fee of $8 includes admission for all three days. Parking is free. The show also includes vendors selling quilts, fabrics and more. More information is in our story here.
Kamikaze Fireflies: See acrobatic duo Rob Williams and Casey Martin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N, Edmonds. The duo brings a comedic approach to acrobatics for audiences of all ages. Tickets are $10. Get more info and tickets here.
Snowboard: A rail jam contest for young, amateur snowboarders is on Saturday at Stevens Pass. Entry is free, but you do need to get a waiver signed by your parents. Registration is at 8 a.m. Get more info here.
Pi and pie: Celebrate the world’s most enigmatic number with activities, games, crafts, pie, Pi recitation contest and pie in the face. The event, for ages 5 and up, is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave.
Think spring: Cabela’s at Tulalip is celebrating spring and fishing with Great Outdoors Days on Saturday and Sunday. Presentations start at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both days. See the whales: Whale watching tours are currently running out of Everett on Saturdays and Sunday. You’ll get a chance to see the gray whales that are hanging out in our area, as well as a lot of other wildlife. Get more info here.
Cheers: The Shamrock Shuffle Wine &Beer Walk is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Country Village in Bothell. Wander through the shopping area and sample the products from 15 local wineries and breweries. Take a ride: The BIKES Club of Snohomish County offers the McClinchy Mile Oso Strong Bicycle Ride on Sunday. The ride is a memorial and tribute to those affected by the Oso mudslide. Two routes are offered, 37 miles and 57 miles. Both routes have few hills. Get more info and register here.
Birds: Pilchuck Audubon Society meets at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Everett Firefighter’s Hall, 2411 Hewitt Avenue, Everett. Watercolor artist and photographer Craig Johnson and his wife, writer Joy Johnson, will present a film on what can happen when native habitat is allowed to flourish, even in a small space such as a suburban back yard.
