EDMONDS — Well-known Seattle Opera mezzo soprano Sarah Larsen will sing arias by Offenbach, Massenet, Bizet and Sibelius during the Cascade Symphony Orchestra concert on March 16.
The concert, “Viva la Orchestra,” is 7:30 p.m. Monday at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N.

The program begins with Rimsky-Korsakoff’s “The Snow Maiden” Suite and ends with Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra.
In between, Larsen will sing Offenbach’s violin aria from “Tales of Hoffmann,” Massenet’s Letter Scene from “Werther,” Bizet’s gypsy song from “Carmen” and another by Sibelius.
Larsen’s upcoming engagements include the alto soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Durufle’s “Requiem” with Orchestra Seattle; La Muse/Nicklausse for “Les contes d’Hoffmann” with the Metropolitan Opera; Mercedes in “Carmen” with the Pacific Symphony; a return to Seattle Opera for her role debut as the Komponist in “Ariadne auf Naxos”; Susanna in “The Ghosts of Versailles” with Wolf Trap Opera; and Donna Elvira in “Don Giovanni” with Arizona Opera.
An alumna of the Seattle Opera Young Artist Program, Larsen returned to Seattle Opera for the 2013-2014 season as Maddalena in “Rigoletto,” the Secretary in “The Consul and “La Muse/Nicklausse” in “Les contes d’Hoffmann.”
Previous roles with Seattle Opera include Mercedes in “Carmen,” Suzuki in “Madama Butterfly” and Tisbe in “La Cenerentola.”
