SEATTLE — The prime contractor on the Washington 520 bridge project across Lake Washington says the man fatally injured in a construction site fall was a 34-year-old carpenter.
Kiewit-General-Manson said Friday that the man had worked seven years with the company.
The Seattle Times reported that Kiewit says its staff is cooperating with the state Labor and Industries Department and conducting an internal investigation of Thursday’s fatality.
The King County medical examiner’s office has not yet released the man’s name.
Kiewit-General-Manson has a $568 million contract to build the fixed and floating bridge segments.
The carpenter fell off the edge of a bridge deck, landing 60 to 70 feet below on a hard surface.
