Local author Julie Moss Scandora will discuss and sign her book, “One in a Million: Bringing Out What is Wondrous in Your Child Through Trust, Understanding, and Respect,” May 20 at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park.

“One in a Million” was developed from Scandora’s own experiences as a parent along with her extensive parenting workshops and lectures. The book is designed as a parent-guide, packed with pragmatic advice and insightful information to provide a refreshing approach to child rearing. Scandora proposes a formula for success for parents who desire to have a mutually respectful relationship with their children. Her empowering strategies are based on her observation, wisdom and sensitivity as a mother.

Scandora is a writer and a mother of three based in north Seattle. She is also past president of Gallery North artist cooperative in Edmonds and a watercolor artist.

Scandora will read from and sign her book at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 20 at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park Towne Centre, 17171 Bothell Way NE in Lake Forest Park. For further information, call Third Place Books at 206-366-3333.
