Brandon Torrey has been hired as the head football coach at Shorewood High School.
The school announced the move Monday.
Torrey, who teaches physical education at the school, replaces Rob Petschl, who resigned in February after five seasons as the Thunderbirds head coach.
Torrey served as an assistant coach under Petschl the past two seasons. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
“Brandon has put significant thought into taking this big step in his first head-coaching assignment and has a plan in place for the team,” the school said in a press release. “We are looking forward to a long run with Brandon leading the T-Bird football program.”
Torrey takes over a Shorewood team that posted a 2-8 record last fall.
