Two free agents who had been linked to Seattle as a potential landing spot have or will sign with other teams.
Veteran defensive end Chris Canty, who was expected to take a free agent visit to Seattle later in the week, decided to re-sign with Baltimore after testing the market.
Greg Hardy, a talented but controversial defensive end, is choosing between Dallas and Tampa Bay according to multiple reports citing his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Hardy was found guilty of assaulting a female and communicating threats by a North Carolina judge last year, but appealed to get a jury trial, and the charges were later dropped when his accuser could not be located to testify.
While the Seahawks and plenty of other teams have employed players with domestic issues in their past, signing Hardy four months after Pete Carroll talked about his awareness of domestic violence changing in light of the Ray Rice case would certainly have raised some questions.
Given their history, however, it’s safe to assume the Seahawks will add D-line help through free agency at some point, and one target could be former Cleveland DT Ahtyba Rubin, who reportedly visited Seattle this Wednesday.
#Seahawks still in the market for DL help. Source says #Browns DL Ahtyba Rubin is visiting Seattle today.
