OLYMPIA — A grand jury subpoena to the Washington state auditor’s office sought a wide range of documents related to a part-time employee at the agency.
The federal subpoena, dated March 5, was released late Friday. It seeks documents related to 46-year-old Jason J. Jerue.
Auditor spokesman Thomas Shapley said Jerue, who still works for the agency, is a technical writer in administrative management.
The subpoena request included information about his employment at the auditor’s office and email discussions between Jerue related to lawsuits involving three companies, including one Auditor Troy Kelley previously settled with before he was elected.
The subpoena also seeks emails on the “commission of any criminal offense.”
Earlier this week, federal Treasury agents searched the home of Kelley.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Seattle has declined to confirm or deny an investigation.
