EVERETT — Lawyers are expected to give closing arguments Thursday in the murder trial of a former Boeing mechanic accused of killing 15-year-old Molly Conley in a drive-by shooting.
Erick Walker, 28, has denied that he fired the single shot that took Molly’s life on June 1, 2013. He also has said he wasn’t responsible for a string of drive-by shootings between Lake Stevens and Marysville a couple of hours later.
Walker didn’t testify in the nearly three-week trial. His lawyers argue that there is nothing that ties their client to Molly’s death.
No one can say what kind of gun killed the girl. Investigators weren’t able to find the bullet that struck the Seattle teen.
Jurors on Tuesday heard that bullets recovered from the drive-by shootings are a match for Walker’s two revolvers. Earlier, the jury was shown a home surveillance video that captured a car that was consistent with Walker’s Pontiac about five blocks away from the killing scene.
Walker is charged with first-degree murder and numerous counts of assault and drive-by shooting.
