Weekend fun: Ballet, beer, egg hunt, music and more

Top level: See talented, professional-level dancers at Olympic Ballet Theatre’s Spring Program. The company will perform classical and contemporary dances 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Get more details in our story here.

Egg hunt: This hunt has a twist. It’s all done by flashlight. There will be lots of hidden prizes in the eggs and tons of candy. The free event is for grades 6 to 12. It’s from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Heatherwood Middle School gym, 1419 Trillium Blvd., Mill Creek. Participants need a parent-signed waiver, available at www.cityofmillcreek.com or at the event. Bring a flashlight and a bag for candy.

Local talent: Jason Webley will sing and talk about his “Margaret” project, which is the musical story of the life of Margaret Rucker, who was the daughter of one of Everett’s founders. The show is 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Everett Public Library main branch. Get more info here.

WWII in miniature: See intricately detailed models that bring World War II to life from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Flying Heritage Collection. You can also learn new techniques from skilled modelers. Free with admission to Flying Heritage Collection. Get more info here.

1,000th beer: As part of its five-year anniversary celebration, Bothell’s Foggy Noggin Brewing will unveil its 1,000th brew, Batch 1,000, a Russian Imperial Stout, on Saturday at its taproom, 22329 53rd Ave. SE, Bothell. Brewed with rye malt, oats and Dominican Republic cocoa nibs, Batch 1,000 started with an Original Gravity of 1.100 and ended up at 11.6-percent ABV. For more, go to www.foggynogginbrewing.com.

More beer: The Cask Beer Festival is Saturday at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. There will be two sessions, from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. Doors open 15 minutes before each session begins, with taps closing 30 minutes before each session ends. There will be more than 40 Washington breweries on hand, including Snohomish County breweries American Brewing, Diamond Knot Brewing and Scuttlebutt Brewing. Cask-condition beers are brewed naturally without artificially introducing CO2. For a full list of the beers pouring, or to get tickets, go to www.washingtonbrewersguild.org. Tickets, which include a commemorative tasting glass and 25 sample tastes, are $40 advance and $45 at the door.

Plan ahead: A summer camp expo and preschool fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillside Academy in Duvall. Parents can chat with instructors and learn more about summer camp and preschool programs. There will be lots of activities for kids. Programs are available for kids ages 2 to 19.
