Haggen donates $1,000 to Cocoon House
The Haggen Food &Pharmacy store at 7601 Evergreen Way in Everett made a $1,000 donation to Cocoon House last month. Haggen is taking over hundreds of Safeways and Albertsons across the West. With each new store opening, Haggen plans to partner with five local nonprofits and will donate $1,000 to a single organization. Several months after the store is converted, Haggen will donate 2 percent of sales on four consecutive Saturdays to four local, non-profit organizations.
Ladies’ Day Out events planned at Cabela’s
Cabela’s biannual Ladies’ Day Out event is at 10 a.m. Saturday in Tulalip. The first 100 women to check in will receive a free gift and all who participate in the event will qualify for a discount on in-store purchases. Seminars and workshops will be taught by local experts and Cabela’s staff free-of-charge.
New broadband speeds available for FiOS customers
Frontier Communications has announced that symmetrical broadband speeds are now available to its residential FiOS customers in Washington. Frontier began offering speeds up to 100 Mbps to residences throughout its FiOS footprint this past fall. With this latest enhancement, the company will offer symmetrical speed tiers of 30/30, 50/50, 75/75, 100/100 and 150/150 Mbps.
Deadline to sign up for health insurance is April 17
This tax season, residents who were uninsured last year face a fine of up to 1 percent of their income under the Affordable Care Act. To help people avoid an even larger fine next year, Washington Healthplanfinder is reminding them they can still sign up for health insurance through April 17.
