Weekend best bets: Make a fairy, live music, swim, dragons, more

Blues legend: Hear Curtis Salgado play at the Historic Everett Theatre on Saturday. Make your own fairy: Meerkerk Magic is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens, 3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank, on Whidbey Island. All ages are invited to gather at the gardens to create their own fairy dolls to take home. Natural materials from the forest and garden are provided. For kids: Disney’s Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve is from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. Bop along to a classic Disney hit parade. Show is for toddlers to age 6. Swim: April Pools Day, a safety event, is from 9:15 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion pool, 5303 228th St. SW. The free family event features safety tips and free swim, among other activities. More info is here.
