EDMONDS — It’s a fun and touching comedy.
Phoenix Theatre at Firdale Village is staging laugh-out-loud show, “Over the River and Through the Woods” by Joe DiPietro.
The story is about Nick, a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey, whose parents and sister have moved to another part of the country.
When a new job in Seattle threatens to take Nick away from his beloved Italian grandparents, who he sees each Sunday for dinner, the grandparents begin scheming to keep him in town. Their plans include inviting the lively and single, Cailtlin O’Hare to dinner as bait.
Directed by Christine Mosere, the cast includes J. Woody Lotts, Larry Albert, Micheal McFadden, Susan Conner and Rebekah Dawn.
Performances are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through May 3 at the group’s theater, 7396 Firdale Ave., Edmonds.
Tickets are $19 general admission or $16 for seniors and military personnel. For information, call 206-533-2000 or go to www.phoenixtheatreedmonds.org.
