SHORELINE — Who said pitchers can’t hit?
Don’t tell that to Everett junior Sydney Taggart, the star of Friday’s win over Shorecrest. Taggart pitched a two-hit shutout and added a home run, two doubles and three RBI at the plate. Not to be outdone, fellow Seagull Rachel Christensen went 4-4 with a double and an RBI — she also caught Taggart’s gem behind the plate. It was the sixth win in a row for the 8-1 Seagulls and their fourth shutout of the season. The game was called in the fifth inning in accordance with the 10-run rule.
