Mike Pouncey has signed his five-year contract extension with the Miami Dolphins, a deal that will pay him $45 million, with $22 million guaranteed.
The Dolphins announced the signing Monday. The contract runs through 2020.
“We are excited that we were able to sign a contract extension with Mike,” Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey said in a team-issued statement. “He is a two-time Pro Bowler, with a team-first approach as evident by moving to guard last season while still playing (at) a high level. We are happy that he will stay in Miami and be a key member of our offense.”
The deal makes Pouncey the highest-paid center in the league. He appeared in 12 games at guard last year after returning from offseason hip surgery, but is expected to start at center this fall.
