Boeing honors suppliers, including 2 in Snohomish County

Two Snohomish County companies were among 14 companies and a university to receive Boeing Supplier of the Year awards for 2014.

RB Enterprises of Mukilteo received the award for the non-production category. Onamac Industries of Everett won the outside-manufacturing category.

Two other Washington companies, TW Metals in Woodinville and Michelin Aircraft Tires in Kent, also won awards.

Boeing credited the 15 suppliers with helping the aerospace giant bring in a record $90.8 billion in revenue last year.

“Strong partnerships with our suppliers can make a difference between winning and losing customers and competitions, or determining the success of a development program,” Boeing Vice Chairman, President and Chief Operating Officer Dennis Muilenburg said in a news release.

In 2014, Boeing spent $62 billion with more than 13,000 suppliers from 47 countries, according to the company. Supplier-provided components and assemblies make up more than 60 percent of the cost of Boeing products.
