EVERETT — A 21-year-old worker was seriously injured in a construction accident near Silver Lake on Wednesday morning.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. near the crossing of 16th Avenue SE and 107th Street SE, said Eric Hicks, assistant Everett fire marshal.
The man was on a crew working on new townhouse-style homes, Hicks said. He was in the garage of one of the homes while a loader worked outside.
The loader set a stack of plywood on the third floor. The stack crashed through the third and second floors into the garage.
The man’s injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The state Department of Labor and Industries was notified, along with the city building department, Hicks said.
The city conducted an inspection of the site afterward and allowed work to begin again.
