Concert for parks
SnoCity Parks, a political action committee, is holding a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Snohomish’s Angel Arms art studio, 230 Ave. B.
The proceeds are to benefit an effort to create a metropolitan parks taxing district, which would provide money for Snohomish parks. The city is considering putting the property-tax-funded measure on the Aug. 4 primary election ballot.
The concert will feature Bone Poets Orchestra, a local group led by guitarist and songwriter Christopher Bingham. The suggested donation is $20.
Spring carnival returns: The Evergreen State Fairgrounds will host a spring carnival Friday through Sunday. Festivities include amusement park rides, a trout fishing pond, a quilt show, horse show, auto races, youth dairy show and more.
There is no gate admission, but the carnival charges for rides and games. Evergreen Speedway also charges admission. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
Hours are Friday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to closing.
The Evergreen Fair Foundation’s Homespun Spring Bazaar also is scheduled Saturday and Sunday.
