SEATTLE — A bicyclist has sued the city of Seattle and former Seattle City Councilmember Sally Clark over a 2012 accident in which her SUV collided with him in Tacoma.
The Seattle Times reports Steve Fairbanks filed suit in Pierce County Superior Court last week alleging negligence on Clark’s part. It seeks unspecified damages.
Fairbanks initially filed a $2.5 million claim against the city in November but no resolution was reached.
A police report and the claim say Fairbanks was riding his bike May 12, 2012, when Clark’s SUV turned left in his path.
Clark said in November that she received and paid a citation and immediately notified her insurer and the city of the accident.
The Seattle City Attorney’s Office has already determined Clark was on city business, with her insurance primary and the city’s obligation secondary.
