PORTLAND, Ore. — A search is resuming Thursday for a plane and pilot missing on a flight through the Willamette Valley.
The Civil Air Patrol had three planes with trained spotters in the air on Wednesday and planned more aircraft Thursday.
The single-engine plane took off from Hobby Field at Creswell, south of Eugene, on Tuesday evening. No flight plan was filed, but authorities say the plane was bound for Pearson Field in Vancouver, Washington.
Lt. Col. Ira Rosenberg of the Civil Air Patrol says there are number of hilly and forested areas in the valley that could conceal a plane.
Authorities haven’t released the pilot’s name. Sgt. Carrie Carver of the Lane County sheriff’s department says there’s no indication of foul play or anything other than a routine flight.
