“Over the River and Through the Woods”: This comedy by Joe DiPietro is offered by Phoenix Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, through May 3, at 9673 Firdale Ave. N., Edmonds. The cast includes J. Woody Lotts, Larry Albert, Micheal McFadden, Susan Conner and Rebekah Dawn. The story is about Nick, a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”: This is a toga party you don’t want to miss. Sondheim satire at its best, this is the musical tale of a slave who attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door. That is, if he can keep his story straight. The show features such songs as “Comedy Tonight” and “Everybody Ought to Have a Maid.” Edmonds Driftwood Players perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17 through May 10, at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds. “Mary Poppins”: The Broadway musical will be performed with a live orchestra by the Marysville Pilchuck High School drama club at 7:30 p.m. April 24, 25, 30 and May 1 and 2 in the MPHS auditiorium. Singing the hits such as “Jolly Holiday,” “Spoonful of Sugar,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” are a cast of students that include Marysville Getchell teens and one Pinewood Elementary student. Sage Fairbanks is Mary, Evan Staback is Bert. Other cast members include Jessica Hamilton, Sklyar Van der Putten, Silas Hedman, Laura Koty, Sheridan Hedman, Elizabeth Price, Emmaline Savidge, Chloe Larsen, Cohleen-Raye Villejo, Melanie Stagner, Haley Ries, Victoria Willey, Emma Steele-Sierk, Kenna Goodman and Mallory Ford. “No Way to Treat a Lady”: Village Theatre’s production plays the Everett Performing Arts Center May 1 through 24.
