Incumbent Councilman Bryan Wahl has become the first Mountlake Terrace City Council candidate for the 2015 elections.
Wahl registered with the State Public Disclosure Commission in mid-April as a candidate for the position that he has held since 2012, when fellow council members appointed him to replace former Councilwoman Michelle Robles. Wahl won election in 2013 to the final two years of the term that Robles won in 2011.
Registration with the PDC allows candidates to raise and spend money for the primary and November general elections. Candidates file for ballot positions May 11-15. Positions with three or more candidates appear on the August primary ballot, with the top two vote getters advancing to the November general-election ballot. Any position with only one or two candidates appears only on the November ballot.
Wahl has yet to report any fundraising or spending.
Also on 2015 ballots will be the positions held by Council members Seaun Richards and Laura Sonmore. Neither Richards nor Sonmore nor any potential challengers has announced plans for the coming elections.
