EVERETT — The Everett Philharmonic Orchestra performs its season finale Saturday with a program titled “Listener’s Choice.” Call it an early Mother’s Day treat for the entire family.
Paul-Elliott Cobbs directs the Philharmonic, with the downbeat at 7 p.m. May 2 in Everett Civic Auditorium. Come early for the stageside chat with Cobbs at 6 p.m.
“This final program of our season is a wonderful climax to a very successful year,” Cobbs said in a press release from the orchestra.
The evening will begin with the brass and percussion sections performing the “Vienna Philharmonic Fanfare” by Richard Strauss.
The concert showcases Verdi’s lively Overture to “La Forza del Destino.”
A selection of arias and duets by Mozart, Rossini and Verdi will be sung by soprano Megan Chenovick and baritone Ryan Bede.
The evening concludes with “Capriccio Italien” by Tchaikovsky, who musically describes the sights, sounds and emotions of Italy.
