“Over the River and Through the Woods”: This comedy by Joe DiPietro is offered by Phoenix Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, through May 3, at 9673 Firdale Ave. N., Edmonds. The cast includes J. Woody Lotts, Larry Albert, Micheal McFadden, Susan Conner and Rebekah Dawn. The story is about Nick, a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. When a new job threatens to take Nick away from his beloved Italian grandparents, who he sees each Sunday for dinner, they begin scheming to keep him in town. “Farce of Nature”: Everett’s Reunion Theatre Group presents this comedy 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, May 1 through 3 at the Music Hall Playhouse behind Macy’s at the Everett Mall. “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”: Sondheim satire at its best, this is the musical tale of a slave who attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door. That is, if he can keep his story straight. The show features such songs as “Comedy Tonight” and “Everybody Ought to Have a Maid.” Edmonds Driftwood Players perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, through May 10, at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds. “Mary Poppins”: The Broadway musical will be performed with a live orchestra by the Marysville Pilchuck High School drama club at 7:30 p.m. May 1 and 2 in the MPHS auditiorium. Tickets, available at the door at 7 p.m., are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.

Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap”: Arlington Highland Christian School presents the murder mystery at 7 p.m. May 1 and 2 at the Red Curtain Foundation, 1410 Grove St. in Marysville. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, and $7 for adults. The story involves eight people trapped in a guest house by a snow storm. The last arrival is a police officer sent by headquarters to protect the people from a murderer, who is already there.

“Angel Street”: Grace Academy presents the Patrick Hamilton mystery at 7:30 p.m. May 7, 8 and 9 in Building E at the school, 8521 67th Ave. NE, Marysville. Tickets are $8 at the door.

“Fame”: Lake Stevens High School presents the musical at 6:30 p.m. May 1 at the school’s performing arts center, 2908 113th Ave. Tickets are $5 to $10.

“The Addams Family”: The musical comedy is presented by Glacier Peak High School at 7 p.m. May 1 and 2 and 7 p.m. May 2 at the school, 7401 144th Place SE, Snohomish. Ticket prices range from $10 to $15 and can be purchased in advance from brownpapertickets.com.

“West Side Story”: Mariner High School presents the Stephen Sondheim/Leonard Bernstein musical based on the story of Romeo and Juliet at 7 p.m. May 1, 2, 7 and 8, with a 2 p.m. matinee on May 5 at the school. Tickets are available at the door an hour before curtain. Tickets range from $5 to $10.

“Little Shop of Horrors”: Kamiak High School presents the comedy rock musical at 7 p.m. May 1, 2, 8 and 9, with a 2 p.m. matinee also on May 9. Tickets prices range from $10 to $15. All seats are reserved and are now on sale at the school office or on the school’s website.

“Footloose”: Meadowdale High School presents the musical at 7 p.m. May 1 and 2 and 7 p.m. May 2 at the school’s Black Box Theater, 6002 168th St. SW, Lynnwood.

“No Way to Treat a Lady”: Village Theatre’s production plays the Everett Performing Arts Center May 1 through 24. Steve Tomkins directs and RJ Tancioco, who grew up in Mountlake Terrace, is the music director. The cast includes Village Theatre favorites Nick DeSantis, Bobbi Kotula, Jessica Skerritt, Dane Stokinger and Jayne Muirhead. For information go to villagetheatre.org or call 425-257-8600. Created by Douglas J. Cohen and based on the best-selling novel by William Goldman, author of “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “The Princess Bride,” “No Way To Treat A Lady “is a fun-packed cat-and-mouse detective drama rounded out with romance, music and laughs.

“Cabaret”: Tickets are on sale now for Village Theatre’s production, which plays Everett July 10 through Aug. 2. Directed by Pulitzer prize winner Brian Yorkey, the show stars Billie Wildrick, who grew up in Snohomish, as well as other Seattle musical theater stars Brian Earp, Jason Collins, Anne Allgood and Peter Crook. “Lizard Boy”: Directed by Brandon Ivie, the musical is written, composed and performed by Justin Huertas. From the ashes of Mount St. Helens emerged a monster with mysterious powers that changed one boy’s life forever. Equal parts comic book lore, coming-of-age love story and irrepressible indie rock musical. Ends May 2 at Seattle Repertory Theatre, Seattle Center. Ticket information is at www.seattlerep.org.

Reflections School of Dance: The school’s benefit performance “Celebrate Life” is at 7:30 p.m. May 2, PUD Auditorium, 2320 California St., Everett. Suggested donation is $15 at the door. Part of National Dance Week, the program benefits the Casino Road Kids Ministries and the Reflections Dance Outreach Program. Also performing with Reflections dance teams will be the Paradosi Ballet Co. of Tacoma.

Opera

“Ariadne auf Naxos”: A perfect first opera for people who haven’t gone before. A relatively short production, English captions, romantic music and lots of action. May 2 through 16 at McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center. Tickets start at $25. Call 206-389-7676.
