ARLINGTON — Arlington and Marysville Pilchuck saved all the scoring in a 1-1 tie for the last four minutes of Friday night’s Wesco 3A boys soccer game in what was a defensive struggle for most of the game. Pilchuck’s EJ Adcock scored what one Arlington coach called “an impossible shot” in the final minutes on a dart that squeaked in the top-left corner of the net. It was only one of eight shots on goal by the Tomahawks all night.
Arlington didn’t have much luck for most of the match either — it only had eight shots on goal of its own. However, Seigo Hall saved the day in stoppage time with a penalty kick after teammate Aaron Paloalto was pulled down in the box by a Pilchuck defender. Hall evened the score and the teams went home with a split after a hard-fought Wesco 3A dog fight.
Arlington has won three of its last four overall. Pilchuck had lost two straight heading in to Friday’s match. Both teams play again May 4—Pilchuck hosts marysville Getchell and Arlington visits Lynnwood.
