Swing Central great experience

Dear donors to the Everett High School Jazz Band:

Thank you so much for your donations. Without you, the band and I wouldn’t have been able to attend a once-in-a-lifetime event. Swing Central was incredible, taking place in beautiful Savannah, Georgia. The band and I had an amazing experience, as we had the privilege of working with some of the modern jazz greats. Playing with them, watching them perform and getting feedback from them was a great learning experience.

The band also had a chance to watch others perform as we listened to some of the Savannah Music Festival. At the finals, for Swing Central, the band applied everything we learned within the short time period to every note we played on the stage. I can proudly say that this was the best the Everett High School Jazz Band has sounded during my four years in the band. Everyone left the stage feeling very good about the performance. The band didn’t make the top three, but we were brought closer as a group and learned a lot from the experience. We were happy with what we learned and presented, that was better than winning. I can’t thank all of you enough for making this incredible experience possible. The Everett High School Jazz Band has grown because of you and will continue growing as the bar has been set for upcoming players. Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Scott Minnich

Everett
